DUSHANBE, November 16, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Forty-one countries of the world have provided more than 54 million U.S. dollars worth of humanitarian aid to Tajikistan over the first ten months of this year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

More than 12,000 tons of wheat flour for more than 6.1 million U.S. dollars, 514.9 tons of vegetable oil for some 800,000 U.S. dollars, US$19.6 million worth of medicines and medical equipment, footwear and clothing for more than 2 million U.S. dollars as well as food products and electrical appliances have been delivered to the country over the report period.

Among the donor countries the greatest share in value came from the United States – 37 percent, Russia – 13 percent, China – 10.9 percent, the Netherlands – 6.8 percent; and Egypt – 3.9 percent.
