, President Rahmonov called on the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.

In the course of the talks the two discussed matters being of mutual concern, as well as regional and international development, according to IRNA.   Khamenei noted that the people and the leadership of

were candid friends of the people of


Tajikistan

“One of the main tasks of three Persian-speaking countries promoting strengthening of power and international authority of


Iran

Tajikistan


and


Afghanistan


is expansion and promotion of the Persian language,” Ali Seyed Khamenei said.  

At the same time, he stressed the necessity of implementation of agreements that had been signed between


Tajikistan


and


Iran


on cooperation in the areas of politics, economics, science and education.  

Khamenei noted that


Iran


has good potentials for training of skilled personnel for


Tajikistan


.   

Tajik president, for his part, described his visit to


Iran


as fruitful and said the visit would be considered as a turning point for expansion of special and extensive relations between the two countries.
