DUSHANBE, January 23, Asia-Plus — Deputy Dushanbe Mayor, Firuz Ulmasov, has been sacked for failing to properly organize activity of the construction sector in the city.  

Dushanbe Mayor, Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, presided over a meeting of the Dushanbe mayor’s office on January21.  The meeting was held to sum u the results of work carried out by the mayor’s office in 2005.  

During the meeting it was noted that that last year, 121.3 million Somonis were assimilated in the construction sector against 177 million Somonis assimilated in 2004.  Ubaidulloyev also noted that compared to 2004, when an overall space of 103,000 square meters in residential buildings were available, the space in residential buildings made available last year reduced by 60,000 square meters.   

Head of the construction department within the mayor’s office also was dismissed for incompetence.
