KHUJAND, January 27, Asia-Plus — The head of the Qairoqqum police directorate-run jail has been killed.
Asatillo Urunov, chief aide to the Sughd prosecutor, has told Asia-Plus that the incident took place Wednesday [January 25] evening. According to him, Fathullo Rahimov, resident of Isfara, who was taken into custody under charge of illegal possession of weapons, shot the local police-run prison head, Bobojon Gadoiboyev, and escaped.
The armed patrols consisting of police officers and interior troops have closed all exists from the city, according to the source.
