, according to information from the Tajik law enforcement agencies  

The sources in the Interior Ministry and the Military Prosecutor’s Office have told Asia-Plus that Hokimsho Hofizov was shot dead near his house. 

Criminal proceedings have been instituted to investigate into the matter and a special investigation team comprising officers of the Defense Ministry, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Security and the Military Prosecutor’s Office is currently working in the scene of the crime.  

Tajik Minister of Defense Sherali Khairulloyev held an ad hoc session today. 

The 42-year-old Hokimsho Hofizov had served as Head of the Military Institute since 1998.
