, March 9, Asia-Plus – An official opening of the
Legal
Support
Center
of the “Arbitration” Public Foundation is being held in the northern city of
Istaravshan
(Sughd province) today.
The source in the “Arbitration” Public Foundation has told Asia-Plus that the center-opening ceremony will be attended by the British Ambassador to
Tajikistan
Mr. Graeme Loten, representatives from the British Department for International Development (DFID), senior representatives from the Foundation itself, staffers of the
Legal
Support
Center
, as well as representatives from the district and regional authorities.
According to the source, the
Legal
Support
Center
established in Istaravshan under a DFID program will make available legal consultations on the issues of land-ownership, demarcation of land boundaries, water-use, protection of rights of property, rent and contract relationships, founding issues, as well as mediation services and protection.
The Asia-Plus interlocutor also says that such centers have already been operating in Hissor, Panjakent, Ayni, Shahritus, Kulob, Tursunzoda and Bobojonghafurov districts.
The “Arbitration” Public Foundation implements the mechanism of a system of arbitration courts in
Tajikistan
and funded by the DFID.
