Iran
is ready to support improvement of defense capability of Tajik national army.
According to information from the Tajik Ministry of Defense (MoD), Iranian Minister of Defense and Logistics of the Armed Forces, Mostafa Mohammad Najjar, remarked this yesterday during his telephone conversation with the Defense Minister of
Tajikistan
, Sherali Khairulloyev.
During the telephone conversation the two discussed bilateral cooperation between
Tajikistan
and
Iran
as well as regional and international issue being of mutual interesting and called for cooperation in all areas.
Sherali Khairulloyev appreciated
Iran
’s contribution to peace and security of the region and said that he was pleased with progress
Iran
has made in the defense and security sector. He called for exchange of views with Iranian officials on regional cooperation on peace and security. Khairulloyev said that regular consultations between defense ministries of states of the region would be effective in fostering a defense and security arrangement.
For his part, the Iranian minister noted that
Iran
was ready to help strengthen defense capability of
Tajikistan
. Najjar noted that defense cooperation between
Iran
and
Tajikistan
would set a pattern for regional cooperation among different nations.
Sherali Khairulloyev extended invitation to his Iranian counterpart to visit
Tajikistan
.
