’s Drug Control Agency in cooperation with traffic police have detained police officer allegedly involved in drug trafficking.

According to information from the DCA press service, officers from the DCA mobile antinarcotics unit and traffic police stopped a car “Toyota- Land Cruiser” driven by a 46-year-old police officer.  When searching the car they discovered more than 60 kilograms of drugs, including 16 kilograms of heroin and more than 44 kilograms of raw opium.  The driver and three his passengers were arrested.  

Later, another law enforcement officer was detained on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking.  When searching his house the DCA officers discovered 24.5 kilograms of drugs.   

We will recall that it is already the third case of detention of the law enforcement officers for involvement in drug trafficking over the past week.  

Prosecutor-General’s Office and investigation group of the DCA are jointly investigating into these cases.
