Bill on third party arbitration courts discussed in Tajik capital today

DUSHANBE, April 6, Asia-Plus — A roundtable meeting to discussed a bill on third party arbitrations courts opened at State Employee Training Institute in Dushanbe today morning.   

The main aim meeting staged by Public Foundation “Arbitrazh” supported by UK Department for International Development (DFID) is final discussion of the draft law “On Third Party Arbitration Courts in Tajikistan” with representatives of Interagency Working Group (IWG).  Participants will discuss this law, which will be submitted for approval to the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament).

Nigora Astanova, public elations coordinator, PF Arbitrazh, said that the meeting participants include head of IWG, J.M. Davlatov, head legal deputy of President’s Executive Office, D. Murodov, Chairman of Tajikistan’s Constitutional Court, H. Hojiyev,  Deputy Chairman of the Agency of Land Geodesy and Cartography, M.H. Khabirov, and other members of Interagency Working Group.

According her, the similar roundtable meetings were held last year in Sughd and Khatlon  provinces, where participants offered their suggestions and recommendations on the draft law “On Third Party Arbitration Courts in the Republic  of Tajikistan” .

Public Foundation Arbitrazh manages Phase II of the Supporting the Development of Third Party Arbitration Courts Project in Tajikistan for the resolution of land and property disputes in support of the country’s land reform program through Legal Support Centers functioning in nine regions of Tajikistan.
