DUSHANBE, April 12, Asia-Plus – A Kyrgyz national has been detained at the border-crossing checkpoint at the Tajik-Kyrgyz border in the Murgab district of Gorno Badakhshan on suspicion having been involved in drug trafficking.
Nafas Dilshodov, the chief of the investigation department of the GBAO regional prosecutor’s office, said that the Kyrgyz citizen was detained at the beginning of this week. “When searching a truck ZIL belonging to him border guards found seven kilograms of hashish hidden in the vehicle’s tank,” the prosecutor said.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the Kyrgyz national and an investigation is under way.
