DUSHANBE, May 7, Asia-Plus – More than 18 kilograms of heroin were seized in the Bobojonghafurov districts, Sughd province, yesterday, according to the ministry of interior (MoI).
The source at a MoI said that heroin was found in Mercedes belonging to unemployed resident of Dushanbe Abdufattoh Ismolilov. The driver was detained and an investigation is under way.
In the meantime, customs officers at the Dushanbe airport stopped an attempt by Tajik citizen a 35-year-old Eronsho Qurbonshoyev to internally smuggle narcotics into St. Petersburg. “Qurbonshoyev attempted to conceal 120 containers with heroin in his stomach,” a source at the Customs Service said.
