Consultative council for labor and social security highly appraised settlement of inter-Tajik conflict

DUSHANBE, June 25, Asia-Plus — Participants at the 20th session of the Consultative Council for Labor and Social Security that was held in Dushanbe on June 21-22 has highly appraised settlement of the 1992-1997 inter-Tajik conflict.

The session resulted in adoption of an appeal to Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.  The appeal, in particular, said that despite all difficulties, the country’s authorities had managed to unite people, undertake efforts to reestablish peace and mobilize nation for constructive labor.   

Life has proved rightness of steps taken by you as leader of the Tajik nation to settle inter-Tajik conflict, and the Tajik model of achieving peace through negotiations is discussed by other countries as method of settlement of conflict, the appeal said.  

Participants at the session noted that as a result of carried out reforms Tajikistan’s economy is reviving and considerable progress had been made reducing poverty.  

“Issues of social-labor sphere, especially employment, migration and social security, have global character and discussion of them…will facilitate acceleration of integration processes between the CIS countries and improve socioeconomic situation in our countries,” the appeal said.   

The Dushanbe session discussed a broad range of issues related to labor migration, social problems, employment of youth, professional training, raising qualification and organizing training courses for jobless, pension payment, providing privileges for veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, etc.
