DUSHANBE, August 23, Asia-Plus — Tajik counternarcotics agency has reported the seizure of large amount of drugs on the Tajik-Afghan border.
According to information posted on the Drug Control Agency (DCA) website, Tajik border guards and officers from the Khatlon counternarcotics directorate detained Afghan national Boron valadi Khushvakht who was illegally crossing the border river in the Farkhor district.
50.32 kilograms of drugs, including 15.25 kilograms of heroin and more than 35 kilograms of marijuana, were confiscated from him.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained Afghan drug trafficker and an investigation is under way.
