DUSHANBE, October 22, Asia-Plus — Over the first three quarters of this year, Tajikistan’s national air carrier has incurred losses in an amount of 62,000 euros due to carrying the deported labor migrants from the Russian Federation, Hokimsho Tilloyev, Director General of Tajik State Air Company TajikAir, remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe today.
According to him, the national air carrier has carried 377 deported migrants from Russia over the report period, and 99 percent of them have been carried from Moscow.
“On each flight from Russia, we have to reserve several seats for the deported migrants,” said Tilloyev, “We have to take on, first of all, the deported migrants, otherwise the aircraft will not be allowed leaving the airport.” “To compensate our expenses we have to demand that the deported migrants should pay a half of cost of passenger fares on arrival in Dushanbe.”
He added that they have repeatedly asked officers from the border control at the Dushanbe airport to create database of the deported migrants. “The border control officers, however, say that the Domodedovo airport and Russian Railways do not give them information about the deported migrants,” said Tilloyev, “Because of lack of exact information about the deported migrants we have incurred serious losses.”
According to TajikAir, over the first nine months of this year, 300 Tajik nationals, who had previously been deported from the Russian Federation, have been withdrawn from flights.
We will recall that labor migrants deported from the Russian Federation are barred from returning to Russia for five years.
