TSB’s total capital has reached 112.5 million somonis by October 1, 2007

DUSHANBE, October 30, Asia-Plus — Open joint-stock company TojikSodirotBonk (TSB) has opened another branch in Dushanbe.

The TSB press service said that work on preparation of necessary documents and making changes to the bank charter is under way.    

The new branch of TSB for Dushanbe will be located in the Ismoili Somoni and bring a total number of TSB’s branches in the country to 10.    

            TSB’s assets have increased from 194.733 million somonis in December 2006 to 324 million somonis. 

Over the first nine months of this year, a total capital of TSB has more than doubled, reaching 112.5 million somonis, while by the end of last year, it had amounted to some 50 million somonis.  As of October 1, 2007, clear profit of the bank has amounted to some 10 million somonis.   

TSB was established in December 1990 as the Tajik branch of the Vnesh Econom Bank of the former Soviet Union, and it initially specialized in trade and import-export banking.  Later this branch was reorganized into a Joint-Stock Commercial Bank “Tajikvnesheconombank”.  In June 1999 the bank was renamed and registered as TojikSodirotBonk or TSB.

Headquartered in Dushanbe, TSB now has 10 branches in the main cities of Tajikistan and covering all regions of the country. Its clients include the biggest Tajik trading companies, other enterprises, entrepreneurs, and some of the embassies and diplomatic organizations based in Dushanbe.

According to the TSB press service, TojikSodirotBonk accounts for 20 percent of a total capital of Tajikistan.
