DUSHANBE, November 16, Asia-Plus — Tajik State Islamic Institute has been established in Tajikistan.
First Deputy Education Minister Farhod Rahimov told Asia-Plus that State Islamic Institute had been established on the basis of Islamic University named after Imom Tirmizi in Dushanbe. According to him, curriculum of the Islamic Institute will be submitted to the Ministry of Education (MoE) within the next few days.
“In addition to Koran and Hadis of Prophet Muhammad, students at Tajik State Islamic Institute will also study humanities and foreign languages,” said the deputy minister, “They will study history of Tajikistan, basics of natural sciences and information technology, etc.”
He further added that the budget had provided funds for the last months of 2007 and beginning from 2008, the institute will stat work.
