DUSHANBE, November 22, Asia-Plus — Customs officers at the Khujand airport have yesterday stopped an attempt by drug courier to internally smuggle 366.6 grams of heroin to Russia.
According to Tajikistan’s Customs Service, during inspection of passengers on the Dushanbe-Yekaterinburg (Russia) flight, Sughd resident Illarion Loktionov was detained on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking.
“Loktionov attempted to smuggle 67 capsules with totaling 366.6 grams of heroin in his stomach,” the source said.
Since the beginning of the year, Tajik customs officers have stopped 37 drug-smuggling attempts and seized more than 75 kilograms of drugs.
