DUSHANBE, December 7, Asia-Plus — Over the last week of November, 2,847 tons of gasoline has arrived in Tajikistan, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MoEDT) said.
The source at a MoEDT said that 891 tons of gasoline arrived in Dushanbe from November 22 to November 30, which is 31.3 percent of the overall volume of gasoline delivered to the country over that period.
According to him, the limited liability company Shams has delivered 295 tons of gasoline to the Tajik capital over the report period, Gazprom Neft-Tajikistan, which is subsidiary of the Russian state-controlled gas company Gazprom, has delivered 126 tons of gasoline, and one local entrepreneur has delivered 470 tons.
914 tons of gasoline or 32.3 percent of the overall volume of gasoline imported to the country over the same period has been delivered to Qurghon Teppa, the capital of the Khatlon province. Khujand, the capital of the Sughd province, has received 657 tons of gasoline (23.1 percent) over the report period, and Kulob 322 tons (11.3 percent).
In November, 10,765 tons of gasoline was delivered to Tajikistan, which is three times fewer than in November of 2006, when 32,550 tons of gasoline was supplied to the country.
In the meantime, gasoline prices remain the same and do not show downward tendency. As of December 7, the price of gasoline in the country has averaged 4.0 somonis, having risen from 3.5 somonis on November 1. Some refuel stations in Dushanbe are realizing a 96-octane gasoline even at the rate of 5.0 somonis per liter.
