DUSHANBE, December 29, Asia-Plus — A book entitled “In Quest of Truth” has been brought out in Dushanbe.
The book is a collection of works by journalists working with Tajik print media who are winners the competition “Role of Journalist in Development of Civil Society” that was held by Tajik Journalists’ Union this year under support of the Tajik Branch of Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation (OSI/AF).
The collection of works has been published under support of the British Institute for War and Pease Reporting (IWPR), the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia, National Association of Independent Media (Nansmit), Association of Journalists of Tajikistan – Social Partnership, Tajikistan’s Media-Alliance, and the Foundation for Memory and Protection of the Rights of Journalists of Tajikistan.
We will recall that an awards ceremony for winners of the competition dedicated to World Press Freedom Day was held in Dushanbe on May 3 this year.
The competition was held under support of the Tajik Branch of OSI/AF, IWPR, and the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia. The goal of the competition was to promote further development and active involvement of mass media in Tajikistan and increase professional skills of journalists in covering problems facing society. Journalists participated in the following categories: economic reforms; social development and democratization of society.
