DUSHANBE, December 29, Asia-Plus — Tajik government has considered more than 40 issues, including a plan of action for the first half-year of 2008 and measures on fulfillment of the national budget for 2008, presidential press service said.
A government session, preside over by President Emomali Rahmon, was held on December 28.
Speaking at the meeting, the head of state set specific tasks on efficient use of budget allocations.
The session also endorsed and sent for consideration to the parliament bills on medical insurance, anticorruption agency, as well as amendments to other bills and the country’s forest code.
By government’s resolution a national employment support program for 2008-2009 was approved. Under this program 185,000 new jobs are expected to be created and 253,000 people will be placed in jobs. Besides, 17,500 people will be drawn into vocational education and retraining.
The session also approved a number of document son cooperation with the CIS states, including three Tajik-Azeri agreements.
The meeting approved a program for processing primary aluminum and manufacturing finished product from it. The program is designed for 2007-1015.
The document, in particular, notes that 415,100 tons of primary aluminum and 6,500 tons of finished product from it were exported in 2007, while by 2015 these figures should reach 552,000 and 48,500 tons respectively. Implementation of the program is supposed to create 25,000 new jobs.
Tajikistan’s Aluminum Company (TALCO) now has relations of production with more than 15 local enterprises.
The session also made a decision on establishment of the State unitary Enterprise Tashkhisgar. The president charged relevant bodies with taking measures to intensify activities of planning organizations on examination of construction work, in particular, at hydropower facilities, improvement of logistic support for them and training of skilled specialists fro the energy sector.
By special government’s resolution the Agency for State Material Resources and the National Commission for Reserves of Minerals were established.
