DUSHANBE, August 15, 2008, Asia-Plus — To find out about the actual situation in educational facilities, the Ministry of Education (MoE) has set up a working group to conduct census of educational facilities across the country, according to the MoE press service.
The census, dedicated to promote successful implementation of the national education development program, will start on September 10 and runs through October 31.
In late July, the minister issued an order obligating school principals to prepare all necessary data before September 10, the press service said. By president’s order the working group is to count the number schools, pupils, teaching staff, desks, school supplies, etc.
According to the MoE, 3,810 general schools with a total number of 1,690,585 pupils, now function in Tajikistan.
