DUSHANBE, August 26, 2008, Asia-Plus  – Ten persons, including two children, were and two others were injured on Monday as two cars collided in Khatlon’s Danghara district, according to the traffic police directorate. 

The accident took place on the 132nd kilometer of the highway Dushanbe-Danghara-Kulob at around 3:00 p.m.   

A sedan Daewoo, driven by a 27-year-old Mahmadali Rahmatov, went into oncoming traffic and collided with a car VAZ-2114, driven by a 44-year-old Qadamsho Sharipov. Ten persons, including two children, were killed and two other persons were injured and taken for treatment to the central district hospital in Danghara.  The cause of the accident is under investigation.   

1,063 traffic accidents have been reported in Tajikistan since the beginning of this year.  303 persons have been killed and 1,242 others have been injured in those accidents.
