DUSHANBE, January 17, 2009, Asia-Plus – Chief correspondent at the News Agency Asia-Plus Bahrom Mannonov, died untimely in Dushanbe on January 16 aged 61.

Bahrom Mannonov had worked with the news agency since March 2002 and he managed to quickly gain authority among colleagues and readers as honest and hard-working journalist.  When the question was of any important task we always remembered first him.

Reporters are frequently accused of hard-heartedness.  However, nobody could say this about Bahrom Mannonov, who was real friend and was always ready to come to the aid of others.  Known for his generosity and warm personality, Bahrom Ako was highly regarded and greatly respected by family and friends.

Dear Bahrom Ako, we will always remember you!  We grieve together with your family and relatives!

Born Konibodom, Sughd province October 9 1947, Bahrom Mannonov received his early education in Konibodom before graduating in 1970 from the Faculty of Physics at Tajik National University in Dushanbe.  From 1970 to 1976, he served in the USSR Armed Forces.  From 1975 to 1978, he worked as teacher of physics with School # 2 in Konibodom.  From 1978 to 1980, Bahrom Mannonov worked as specialist with the Konibodom education department.  In 1980-1991, he worked with Konibodom Technical College and from 1991 to 1995 as principal of School # 2 in Konibodom.  In 1995-2002, Bahrom Mannonov worked as adviser to the chairman of the board of the Konibodom-based joint-stock company Bodom.
