DUSHANBE, April 29, 2009, Asia-Plus — Tajik Defense Minister, Colonel-General Sherali Khairulloyev, attended a session of the council of defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) that was held in Moscow on April 28.

The source at the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said the SCO defense ministers had discussed issues related to expansion of cooperation of military-technical cooperation between the SCO states.

According to Russian media, the SCO defense ministers will be received by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev today.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization members are China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.  Iran, India, Mongolia and Pakistan have a status of observer at the SCO.
