DUSHANBE, May 12, 2009, Asia-Plus — A meeting of representatives of the Coordination Council of Business Associations and Public Unions with top managers of the State Committee for Investments and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest) and senior representatives of a number of ministries and organizations was held in Dushanbe on May 12.
The meeting was held within the frameworks of a memorandum on cooperation signed between the GosKomInvest and business associations last October.
Opening the meeting, the first deputy head of the GosKomInvest, Abdugaffor Rahmonov, acquainted those present with measures taken by the government to support development of entrepreneurship in the country and priorities of its development in the foreseeable future.
According to him, the government has carried out a number of reforms to improve conditions of running business in the country. “Reforms carried out in the registration, licensing and inspection systems have improved mechanisms of regulating economic activities of entrepreneurs,” Rahmonov said.
The deputy head of the GosKomInvest, Shuhrat Rahmatboyev, noted that program, Improvement of Entrepreneurial Environment – 200 Days of Reforms, had been worked out with direct participation of business associations, Public Council and international organizations implementing private sector development support programs and projects in the country.
“The program providing for short-term measures to promote administrative reforms aimed at developing entrepreneurship and raising investment attractiveness of the country will be submitted for consideration to the government within the next few days,” Rahmatboyev said.
