DUSHANBE, August 6, 2009, Asia-Plus  — On Wednesday August 5, President Rahmon signed a number of laws adopted by the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) and seconded by the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) this year, according to presidential press service.

The president, in particular, singed the laws on maintenance of apartment buildings, autonomous bodies of settlements and villages, as well as on amendments to the country’s laws on joint-stock companies, education, culture and penal code.

The signed laws are aimed at ensuring human rights and freedoms, protecting interests of legal entities, enhancing socioeconomic situation in the country, as well as improving current legislation, enhancing activities of state bodies and ensuring development of society.
