Republican na’t performance festival concludes today

DUSHANBE, August 6, 2009, Asia-Plus  — A republican na’t performance festival is concluding in Dushanbe today.

Na’t is hymns to the Prophet of Muhammad; it is a particular devotional genre of poetry and music in praise of the Prophet.

The festival that was launched on August 2 was supposed to conclude on August 4 but since four new na’t performers participated in the festival, it was extended till today.

According to the Ministry of Culture (MoC), 26 performers of na’t from al regions of the country have participated in the festival that is held in Tajikistan for the first time.
