Quarantine introduced in Khujand infants’ house following detection of hepatitis case

KHUJAND, September 22, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Quarantine has been introduced in infants’ house in Khujand following detection of a case of Botkin’s disease (viral hepatitis type A).

According to the administration of the infants’ house, the quarantine will last till October 17.  “The quarantine has been introduced after one of children was diagnosed with Botkin’s disease,” the source said.

“The child having contracted the disease is currently at the regional infectious diseases hospital and a number of anti-epidemic measures have been taken in the infants’ house after the case of the disease has been registered,” the source said.

The infants’ house in Khujand is a house of orphaned children and children left without parents’ care under the age of seven.
