DUSHANBE, October 28, 2009, Asia-Plus — Deputy Minister of Finance, Jamoliddin Nouraliyev, yesterday met here with the head of the representative office of Export-Import Bank of China (China Eximbank) in St. Petersburg, Russia, Sin Bin, according to the Ministry of Finance press service.
The sides discussed issues related to implementation of the energy and transportation projects in Tajikistan that are sponsored by the China Eximbank as well as prospects of further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and the Bank. They agreed to intensify interaction to ensure successful implementation of the projects in time.
Tajik official briefed guests on the process of implementation of the national anti-crisis program adopted by the Tajik government to mitigate effects of the global financial crisis and also offered to consider the possibility of opening of the Eximbank regional representative office in Tajikistan.
Nouraliyev also expressed gratitude to representatives of the China Eximbank for support provided by the Bank for development of Tajikistan’s economy, the press service said.
The Export-Import Bank of China (China Eximbank) is one of three institutional banks in China which chartered to implement the state policies in industry, foreign trade, diplomacy, economy and finance to provide policy financial support so as to promote the export of Chinese products and services. It was founded in 1994, and is subordinated to the Stat Council.
The Bank now has over ten domestic business branches and representative offices as well as three overseas representative offices in South Africa (Representative Office for Southern & Eastern Africa), Paris and St. Petersburg. In terms of correspondent network, it has set up correspondent banking relations with more than 300 banks overseas.
