DUSHANBE, December 1, 2009, Asia-Plus — Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi met with his Kazakh counterpart Kanat Saudabayev in Athens, Greece on November 30, according to the Tajik MFA information department.
Kazakhstan’s upcoming OSCE chairmanship was among major topics of the meeting. Zarifi, in particular, noted that Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in OSCE was of significant importance for the political situation in the Central Asia region.
Tajik minister supported the proposal to hold the OSCE summit in Kazakhstan in 2010, expressing confidence that Kazakhstan would represent Central Asia with dignity during its chairmanship in the Organization, the MFA information department said.
