DUSHANBE, December 1, 2009, Asia-Plus — As of November 30, 2009, Tajikistan was ranked second among the former republics of the Soviet Union in terms of rise in exchange rate of the dollar against the national currency, Belarusian news agency BelaPan reported.
According to BelaPan, the Tajik national currency, the somoni, has fallen 26.11 percent against the dollar in January-November 2009 – from 3.4519:1 to 4.3532:1.
The highest rise over the report period has been reported in

ruble, has fallen 26.45 percent against the dollar – from 2,200:1 to 2,782:1.
Among the top three states, where the highest rise in the USD exchange rate has reported over the same eleven-month period, is also

, where 11.43 percent fall in the exchange rate of the national currency, the som, against the dollar has been reported over the first eleven months of this year – from 39.4181:1 to 43.922:1.
In Uzbekistan, the national currency, the sum, has fallen 8.22 percent — from 1,393:1 to 1,507.55:1); Moldova – 6.79 percent (from 10.4002:1 to 11.1059:1); Ukraine – 3.65 percent (from 7.7:1 to 7.98809:1), Russia – 1.49 percent (from 29.3804:1 to 29.8179:1); Georgia – 0.44 percent (from 1.667:1 to 1.6743:1); and Azerbaijan – 0.17 (from 0.801:1 to 0.8024:1).
As far as the exchange of the Turkmen national currency, the manat, against the dollar has remained unchanged over the report period – 2.85:1.
In November, the Tajik national currency fell 0.09 percent against the dollar, BelaPan reported.
