Over 692 mln somoni worth of Roghun shares reportedly sold in Tajikistan in month to Feb 6

DUSHANBE, February 8, 2010, Asia-Plus  — More than 692 million somoni (equivalent to more than 159 million U.S. dollars) worth of shares in open join-stock company NBO Roghun were sold in the country in a month to February 6, 2010, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) said.

Shares for 35,778,731 million somoni have been sold through Amonabonk (Tajikistan’s savings bank), 134,235,400 somoni worth of shares have been sold through Orienbonk, 107,653,200 somoni worth of shares through Agroinvestbonk, 5,940,700 somoni worth of shares through Tajprombank, 11,846,300 somoni worth of shares trough Tojik Sodirot Bonk, 1,934,600 somoni worth of shares through the Bonki Rushdi Tojikiston (Tajikistan Development Bank), 2.32 million somoni worth of shares through Fononbonk, 1.7392 million somoni worth of shares through Bank Eskhata and 391,048,119 somoni worth of shares have been sold through the MoF Board of Treasury.

By February 6, Dushanbe residents and enterprises have bought shares in Roghun for more than 197.8 million somoni, Sughd province – 155.4 million somoni, Khatlon province – 107.8 million somoni, districts subordinate to the center (RRPs) – 64.6 million somoni, and Gorno Badakhshan – 9.2 million somoni.

Share of ministries and organizations, large enterprises, banks and other legal entities accounted for more than 157.4 million somoni.

In the meantime, more than 1.7 million somoni worth of Roghun were sold across the country on February 6.   

We will recall that government started to sell Roghun shares to people to raise funds to complete construction of the Roghun HPP on January 6, 2010.
