DUSHANBE, February 12, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Tajik police seized 13 kilograms of narcotics in three separate operations carried out in Dushanbe and Isfara (Sughd province) on February 11, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

Dushanbe resident, F.S., who has previous drug-pushing conviction, was detained yesterday.  1.6 kilograms of raw opium were confiscated from him, the source at a MoI said.

Resident of the Isfara district, M.J., was detained at the Dushanbe airport.  One kilogram of heroin was found hidden in his luggage.

The third case was reported in the Isfara district.  10.4 kilograms of heroin were found hidden in sacks with dried fruits in the warehouse of the limited liability company, Kimyo-Trans, at the railway station of the city of Isfara.  The preliminary investigation has established that the narcotic drugs belong to resident of the Vorukh jamoat in Isfara, O.K.
