KULOB/KHUJAND, February 15, 2010, Asia-Plus  — By February 15, physical and legal entities in Khatlon’s Kulob have purchased shard in open joint-stock company (OJSC) NBO Roghun for a total of 26,709,800 somoni (TJS), Abdukarim Nematov, head of the branch of National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) in Kulob, told Asia-Plus today.

According to him, residents of the city of Kulob alone have bought shares in Roghun for 8,656,900 somoni.

In the meantime, the government has collected 155.307 million somoni for the Roghun HPP in the Sughd province by February 15.

We will recall that to raise funds to complete construction of the Roghun HPP the government started to sell shares in Roghun to people on January 6 this year.  Tajikistan has issued 6 billion somoni (US$1.37 billion) worth of Roghun shares.
