DUSHANBE, February 17, 2010, Asia-Plus — Some 1 million somoni have been spent for purchasing paper for ballot papers and printing ballot papers for the February 28 parliamentary, Muhibullo Dadajonov, an official with the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda (CCER), told Asia-Plus today.
According to him, the CCER has purchased a special paper for ballot papers from paper mill at Goznak (State Currency; Russian unitary enterprise responsible for the production f coins and bank notes) in St. Petersburg.
“The ballot papers for the upcoming elections have seven degrees of protection,” the CCER official said, noting that ballot papers for the 2005 parliamentary elections had only two degrees of protection.
The ballot papers have been printed at a special workshop of the state-run publishing house, Sharqi Ozod, in Dushanbe.
