DUSHANBE, February 17, 2010, Asia-Plus  — A roundtable formally titled “Child Labor and Migration” is taking place at Tajik Journalists’ Union in Dushanbe tomorrow.

Organized by local office of the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) in cooperation with the Project for the Elimination of Child Labor (ILO), the meeting is held in the framework of project, Protection and Human Rights Education through Media in Central Asia, which is implemented by IWPR under financial support of the European Union.

According to the IWPR Dushanbe Office, the meeting will bring together representatives from governmental bodies, international organizations active in the country as well as local NGOs and media to discuss various aspects of impact of migration on children.

The meeting participants will consider issues related to the child labor situation in each of Tajikistan’s region and the country as a whole.  The meeting is expected to result in adoption of appropriate proposals and recommendations.
