KHUJAND, February 18, 2010, Asia-Plus  — In 2009, the government gave a 31.45 million somoni credit to farmers in the Sughd province through a number of banks and only some 37.6 percent (11.825 million somoni) of that has been repaid by January 29, 2010, Alisher Dadaboyev, a chief specialist with the Sughd main agriculture directorate, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to him, there are farming units in the area that are not able to pay off their debts.
