DUSHANBE, April 20, 2010, Asia-Plus — In a report released at a news conference in Dushanbe, Abduvali Komilov, the head of the Agency for Construction and Architecture, revealed on April 19 that an overall space of 76,116 square meters in residential buildings has been made available in the country in January-March 2010,, which is 4,219 square meters more than in the same period last year.
According to him, the price of one square meter of dwelling in the center of Dushanbe fluctuates from US$1,000 to US$1,200 while on the outskirts of the city, the price of one square meter of dwelling fluctuates from US$350 to US$1,000.
Komilov noted that quality of construction of the residential buildings had much improved. He added that the Agency thoroughly examines projects of all construction companies operating in the country and if they construct low-quality buildings, the Agency will revoke their operating licenses.
