KHUJAND, April 29, 2010, Asia-Plus  — As of April 1, 2020, 14,947 unemployed, with 54.5 (8,149) percent of them being women, were officially registered in Sughd province, Naim Malikislomov, the head of the Sughd agency for social care, employment and migration, told reporters in Khujand on April 28.

According to him, young people aged 15 to 29 constituted 60.1 percent (some 9,000) of the overall number of the officially registered unemployed in the province.

“Since the beginning of this year, local organizations and enterprises of different forms of property have created 1,141 new jobs in the area,” said Malikislomov, “In March alone, local organizations offered some 2,500 vacancies with average monthly wages from 100 to 1,800 somoni.”

Over the first three months, 2,000 local residents have been placed in jobs under the employment support program, he added.

29 job fairs have been organized in the province over the report period and 349 local enterprises and organizations have offered jobs at those fairs.
