DUSHANBE, July 21, 2010, Asia-Plus — Expansion of trade cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan was a major topic of a meeting of Sharif Said, the head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), with Pakistani delegation that took place here on July 19, according to the CCI press service.
The Pakistani delegation members included Mr. Nazir Ahmed Peracha, director, Gharibwal Cement Ltd, Mr. Mohammad Ishaq Sambl, marketing and export manager, Shahpur Commerce (PVT) Ltd, and Mr. Humayun N. Sheikh, chairman, Azgard Nine Ltd.
In the course of the talks, the CCI head briefed Pakistani entrepreneurs on priorities of Tajikistan’s economy, noting that Tajikistan had many undeveloped resources.
Mr. Nazir Ahmed Peracha noted that he would like to arrange export of cement to Tajikistan. Mr. Humayun N. Sheikh, for his part, said that his company could supply mineral fertilizers to Tajikistan.
The CCI head said that all relevant companies in Tajikistan would be informed of proposals on supplying Pakistani products to the country and the proposals would be posted on the CCI’s website.
Gharibwal Cement Ltd. is one of the pioneers of cement manufacturing in Pakistan, producing cement since from around 50 years with complete devotion and qualitatively.
Azgard Nine Limited (ANL) is a composite spinning, weaving, dyeing and stitching unit engaged in manufacturing yarn, denim and denim products. The company”s main business is in manufacturing and marketing denim textile and apparel products from raw cotton to retail ready goods. The company operates in two segments: textile and apparel, includes manufacture and sale of textile and apparel products. ANL also supplies nitrogenous and phosphatic fertilizers.
