DUSHANBE, August 24, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Yesterday evening, all Tajik national TV channels showed photographs of 14 of 25 prisoners who escaped from pretrial detention facility # 1 in Dushanbe in the early hours of Monday morning.

Five of them are citizens of Tajikistan, four others are national of the Russian Federation, four are Afghans, and one is Uzbek.

According to the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), the prison uprising was led by two Tajik nationals: Ibrohim Nasriddinov, who was serving the prison term on murder and weapon-smuggling charges, and Hikmat Azizov, who was serving the prison term on charges of formation of criminal grouping, forcible seizure of power, use of violence against public agent, weapon-smuggling, and illegal border crossing.

Among the alleged escape masterminds was also named the Russian national Magomed Akhmedov, who was serving the jail term on the illegal border crossing and criminal grouping formation charges.

Among the other fugitives are Tajik nationals Fazliddin Kokulov, who was serving the prison term on charges of formation of criminal grouping and illegal border crossing, Juma Ibrohimov, who was serving the jail term on charges of formation of criminal grouping and document forgery, and Bahrom Orifjonov, who was serving the jail term on charges of high treason, formation of criminal grouping, forcible seizure f power and illegal border crossing.

Three other Russian nationals among the escapees included Mirzomen Abiyev, Kazbek Jabrailov, and Gusein Suleymanov.  They were serving prison terms on the illegal border crossing charges.

The Uzbek national Furqat Khalmetov was also serving the prison term on the illegal border crossing charges.

The Afghan nationals who broke out of the detention center in Dushanbe Monday morning are residents of the Afghan Takhor province.  Among them are Mahmadali waladi Qurbanali, who was serving the prison term on the weapon-smuggling and illegal border crossing charges, Muhammadvali waladi Tazagul, who was serving the prison term on the illegal border crossing and drug- and weapon-smuggling charges, Bazarali waladi Egamberdi, who was also serving the prison terms on the illegal border crossing and drug- and weapon-smuggling charges, and Mahmadzakir waladi Mahmadhalim, who was serving the prison term on the illegal border crossing, murder and drug- and weapon-smuggling charges.
