DUSHANBE, September 13, 2010, Asia-Plus — 45 counties of the world have provided US$63.764 million worth of humanitarian aid to Tajikistan over the first eight months of this year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Over the report period, 93 tons of wheat for US$571,000, more than 14,000 tons of wheat flour for US$7.1 million, more than 2,800 tons of vegetable oil for some US$6.1 million, medicines for US$33.181 million, more than US$3 million worth of footwear and clothing, as well as food products, electrical appliances and computers have been delivered to the country.
Among the donor countries the greatest share in value came from the United States – 56.0 percent, Kazakhstan – 11.0 percent, Germany – 5.7 percent, Denmark – 5.1 percent, Russia – 4.7 percent, Korea – 3.7 percent, the Netherlands – 2.6 percent, Latvia – 1.6 percent, Malaysia – 1.2 percent, Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland – 1.1 percent each, India – 0.8 percent, Ukraine and Turkey – 0.6 percent each, China and Austria – 0.5 percent each.
