DUSHANBE, September 15, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Over the first eight months of this year, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan, including electrical power and natural gas, has amounted to 2.9991 billion U.S. dollars, which was 103.5 percent of the January-August 2009 level or 77.1 million U.S. dollars more, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

The trade balance was negative and amounted to 855.3 million US dollars.

Exports of goods in January-August 2010 amounted to 721.9 million US dollars, which was 19.8 percent, or 119.8 million U.S. dollars, more than in the same period last year.

Imports of goods into the country over the report period amounted to 1.5772 billion U.S. dollars, which was 2.6 percent, or 42.3 million dollars, fewer than in January-August 2009.

 In January-August 2010, Tajikistan had trade relations with 92 countries of the world, including 10 CIS nations.
