DUSHANBE, October 21, 2010, Asia-Plus — Over the third quarter of this year, Tajik consumers’ cooperative union, Tojikmatloubot, has transferred 15.9 million somoni in taxes to the country’s budget and our Q3 profit stood at 13.5 million somoni, the Tojikmatloubot head Sirojiddin Valiyev told reporters in Dushanbe on October 20.
“Following government’s decree, we have stopped exporting potatoes, leather and wool and we now export only grapes, lemons and ebonies,” Valiyev said.
According to him, Tojikmatloubot is ready to launch small enterprises for processing fruits and leather. “We have all necessary resources for that,” said the Tojikmatloubot head, “Equipment for three mini plants for processing fruits and vegetables will be delivered from China in the near future. The mini plants will be established in the city of Kulob, in Sughd province and in one of districts subordinate to the center.”
He noted that prices set by Tojikmatloubot for its products were quite reasonable and before introducing new prices Tojikmatloubot coordinated them with the antimonopoly agency.
Valiyev added that Tojikmatloubot was not yet able to intensify its activity in Dushanbe. “We do not have enough funds to provide Dushanbe’s markets with farm produce,” stressed he, “We have been providing markets outside Dushanbe with great difficulty.”
