DUSHANBE, October 26, 2010, Asia-Plus — The Tax Committee plans to gradually reduce the number of entities enjoying tax privileges, the Tax Committee head Nusratullo Davlatov announced at a news conference in Dushanbe on October 25.
He is convinced that tax privileges impede efficient tax collection. “The government has charged the tax committee to consider this issue and submit its suggestions on tax privileges,” said Davlatov, “A number of working groups have been set up to study this issue.”
“Of course, it would wrong to eliminate tax privileges at all,” said the Tax Committee head, “It is necessary to exempt some enterprises from tax payments for two or three years to set them up.”
Thus, enterprises manufacturing children’s clothes enjoy tax privileges that allows them to develop, Tajik chief tax officer noted.
