DUSHANBE, November 3. 2010, Asia-Plus – The law “On the state budget of Tajikistan for 2011” was submitted to the Lower Chamber of the Parliament of Tajikistan. Related decision was made on Thursday last week at the extended session of the Parliament where heads of committees of the Lower Chamber and heads of ministries and departments took part.
Amirsho Miraliev, first vice speaker of the Lower Chamber, who chaired the session, said that the 2011 budget’s profit made 8.3bln Somoni, while expenditures made 8.5bln Somoni. Thus, deficit makes 200mln Somoni.
According to Miraliev, the 2011 budget mainly focuses on social sector with 48% of the total expenditures or more than 4bln Somoni planned for this sector. “Social expenditures in the next year’s budget exceed this year’s expenditures by 31.2% or by 857.6mln Somoni,” he said.
Deputies of the Lower Chamber presented a series of recommendations to the Ministry of Finance regarding enhanced development of the State Budget. Recommendations include enhancement of indexation of pensions, increase in teachers’ salaries, lump-sum assistance to specific groups of population and etc. A total of 50 recommendations have been made.
Tajik Minister of Finance Safarali Najmiddinov promised to take part of these recommendations into account in the course of implementation of the next year’s budget and part of them will be taken into account in future budgets.
