DUSHANBE, March 7, 2011, Asia-Plus — A March 7 meeting of the Dushanbe mayor’s office considered issues related to the provision of the city’s markets with basic food products and the protection of consumes’ rights, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said.
Speaking at the meeting, Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev noted that a 4 million somoni interest-free loan would be provided to the Dushanbe state unitary enterprise, Trade and Dushanbe’s Markets, from the city’s budget for purchase of meat, potatoes, onions, flour, vegetable oil and rice. The loan must be repaid until September 1 this year.
Heads of Dushanbe’s bazaars are to take adequate measures to conclude agreements with agricultural producers on delivery of their products to the city during spring-summer 2011 as soon as possible, the spokesman said.
According to him, the meeting also discussed targeted use of budgetary funds and construction of jubilee facilities that are expected to be put in commission by the 20th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence, which is marked on September 9 this year.
