DUSHANBE, November 2, 2011, Asia-Plus — Media Group Asia-Plus has announced the launch of its new project – website Islamnews.tj.
The website is dedicated to cover life of Muslims in Tajikistan and the region, including relations between Muslim organizations and the authorities both at local and national level.
According to the Asia-Plus director general Umed Babakhanov, the launch of the new project is stipulated by increasing role of Islam in the social life of Tajikistan and the region.
“Islamnews.tj is aimed at providing experts with more information about life of Muslims, developments in life of the Muslim community of the region,” said Babakhanov. “Islam is playing more and more important role in social and political life of the country and this is a reality that should not be ignored.”
One of the objectives of this data portal is in monitoring the religious situation as well as promoting development of dialogue between the Muslim community and the authorities, he added.
The project provides for enlisting services of experts, leading researchers on Islam, specialists from the Committee on Religious Affairs under the Government of Tajikistan and the Council of Ulamo as well as prominent religious leaders of Tajikistan and Central Asia.
Besides news, analytical articles, photo and video materials, reference information about Islam, national and international laws on religion as well as biographies of prominent religious leaders and electronic books on this theme will also be posted on the website. These sections are dedicated to raise religious awareness of the population.
Islamnews.tj will be updated daily with its own news and analytical materials as well as news of other websites.
