DUSHANBE, November 14, 2011, Asia-Plus — The founding meeting of Tajik Diaspora in Ukraine’s Autonomous Republic of Crimea was held at the end of last week.
According to the Tajik MFA information department, representatives of the Tajik Embassy in Kyiv and our fellow-countrymen living and working in Simferopol, Sevastopol, Yevpatoraiya, Sudak and Bakhchisaray attended the meeting.
Khaybullo Karomatov living in Sevastopol was elected chairman of the Tajik Diaspora in Crimea, the source said.
Crimea is a sub-national unit, an autonomous republic, of Ukraine. It is located on the northern coast of the Black Sea, occupying a peninsula of the same name.
We will recall that the Board of the Tajik Diaspora in Ukraine was set up on September 8, 2011. The Board members include heads and representatives of Tajik communities from 13 region of Ukraine.
