DUSHANBE, February 27, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Tajik Ambassador to Ukraine Shuhrat Sultonov met with Ukrainian Minister of Culture Mikhail Kulinyak in Kyiv at the end of last week to discuss cooperation issues.

According to the Tajik Embassy in Kyiv, the sides considered issues related to expansion of cultural cooperation between Tajikistan and Ukraine.

Sultonov and Kulinyak, in particular, discussed cooperation between creative organizations of the two countries and expansion of contacts between cultural figures of Tajikistan and Ukraine.

In this context, Ambassador Sultonov underlined the significance of implementation of agreements reached during President Rahmon’s official visit to Ukraine in December of 2011.  Under one of those agreements, Days of Culture of Tajikistan will take place in Ukraine and Days of Culture of Ukraine will take place in Tajikistan this year.

For his part, Ukrainian minister noted that his country was interested in expansion of cultural cooperation with Tajikistan.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Sultonov invited Mikhail Kulinyak to attend a ceremonial event dedicated to international Day of Navrouz that will be organized in Kyiv by the Tajik Embassy in cooperation with the Embassies Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Turkey ad Central Asia’s countries, the source said.
